Auto reframe video with AI subject tracking
Auto reframe does what an editor does by hand: it finds what matters in each shot and moves the crop to keep it there.
Cropus does it for 9:16, 4:5, 1:1 and 16:9 in one pass, right in your browser.
- Smart crop follows your subject — no keyframes
- 9:16, 4:5, 1:1 and 16:9 from one upload

Why Cropus
Reframing that thinks like an editor
Finds the subject
Cropus works out who or what each shot is about — a dancer, a player, a speaker, a product — and tracks it.
Moves like a camera operator
The crop eases into motion and settles when the subject stops, instead of jittering frame by frame.
Understands scene cuts
On a hard cut the frame jumps to the new position at once, so you never see a pan across two shots.
Every ratio from one analysis
The subject is found once; each extra format reuses it, renders quickly and costs no minutes.
Center crop vs Smart crop
The crop that keeps up
A plain center crop cuts whatever happens to be in the middle. Smart crop tracks the subject through the shot, so the action never leaves the screen.
Smooth camera
The crop glides with your subject. No jitter, no seasick jumps between frames.
Cuts handled
On a scene cut the frame jumps cleanly to the new shot instead of panning across it.
Blur fill
Balanced and Fit fill the bars with a soft, blurred copy of your video — or classic black.
Every format at once
Pick every aspect ratio together. One analysis powers them all, so extra formats are quick and free.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is auto reframe?
Automatic reframing changes a video's aspect ratio by cropping it, while moving the crop so the main subject stays in view. It replaces keyframing a crop by hand in an editor.
How does Cropus decide what the subject is?
An AI vision model looks at frames sampled from your video, recognizes the kind of scene and locates the main subject in each one. Cropus then smooths those positions into a steady camera path.
Can I see what the AI tracked?
Yes. On the video page, “Check tracking” plays your source with the subject outlined and the crop window drawn for each format. If you'd rather not crop at all, choose Fit to keep the full frame.
Do I need video editing software to reframe?
No. Upload a file, choose formats, download the results. There's no timeline and nothing to keyframe.
Which aspect ratios can I reframe to?
9:16 for Shorts, Reels and TikTok, 4:5 for portrait feed posts, 1:1 square and 16:9 landscape. Pick any combination; they share one analysis.
What happens if reframing fails?
If the analysis can't be completed after automatic retries, the minutes for that video are refunded to your balance.
